Elijah Robinson Returning to Texas A&M

Elijah Robinson returns to the Southeastern Conference (SEC) after spending two seasons in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) as the Defensive Coordinator of the Syracuse Orange in Fran Brown’s first two seasons with the Orange.

He will now be the Co-Defensive Coordinator and Defensive Line Coach for the Texas A&M Aggies, the team he was with prior to coming to Syracuse, New York.

Robinson was with the Aggies for six seasons before departing for Upstate New York. During that time with Texas A&M, he served as the Defensive Line Coach (2018-21) and was later elevated to Assistant Head Coach and Run Game Coordinator while keeping his role as Defensive Line Coach from 2022-23. Robinson worked under Mike Elko from 2018-21 when Elko was the Aggies' Defensive Coordinator.

This homecoming offers an opportunity to work under Elko once again, but with both coaches being elevated, with Elko being Texas A&M's Head Coach since 2023 and Robinson taking on Elko's former Defensive Coordinator role with the squad.

The last time Robinson was with the "12th Man", the Aggies were ranked inside the Top 20 nationally in run defense in the 2018, 2020, and 2023 seasons, including finishing third in the nation in 2018 and second in 2020.

Texas A&M also finished in the Top 15 nationally in total defense in three of Robinson's last four seasons with the program.

During his time at Syracuse, Robinson oversaw a defense that featured defensive lineman Fadil Diggs, linebackers Justin Barron and Marlowe Wax, Jr., and defensive back Alijah Clark, all who have gone on to get on the field in the National Football League (NFL) as rookies in the 2025-26 season.
