The Syracuse Orange and Central Connecticut State (CCSU) Blue Devils came into the Dome on an unseasonably warm night in Central New York to face off for Gerry McNamara's second game as the leader of the Orange program.

Syracuse was coming off of a victory over the New Haven Chargers who are in the same conference, the Northeast Conference (NEC), as CCSU.

The Blue Devils came in on the other side of things, having endured a loss on the road to the Temple Owls of the American Conference.

Freshman guard Mark Morano and junior center Luke Wilson scored on Syracuse's first two possessions, on a layup and dunk respectively, giving the Orange an early 4-0 lead.

Syracuse got out to a double-digit lead off of an old-fashioned three-point play from sophomore guard Kiyan Anthony who hit a jumper and his following free throw to bring the game to 21-11 at the 11:36 mark.

Morano's field goal inside the arc at the 1:53 mark gave the Orange a 20-point advantage, 41-21.

At the half, Syracuse led 47-23.

By the 11:30 mark of the second half, Anthony had gotten the Orange to "Taco Time", advancing to and over 70 points on a layup that brought the score to 71-32 Syracuse.

Just inside 10 minutes to play, Anthony elevated from between the top of the key and the right wing for a triple that out him in double-figures for the second time this season in as many games; he had 17 in the Orange season-/home-opening 74-58 victory over the Chargers of New Haven.

Syracuse junior guard Gavin Doty would get his hand in on defense, stealing the ball, and getting out onto a fast-break, with a give-and-go with senior forward Tasman Goodrick that ended in a layup off the glass by Doty that rolled the Orange ahead by 40, 78-38.

Orange Senior guard Garwey Dual would connect from long range with 3:50 remaining, get fouled, and making the freebie, putting Syracuse over the 90-point mark and ahead by more than double the output of CCSU, 92-45.

An assist from Dual to Goodrick got the Orange to 100 points, as they rolled 102-49 over the Blue Devils.

Doty finished with 18, Morano with 16, and Wilson and Anthony each had 14 points.

Junior guard Raphel Laurent was the lone CCSU player in double-figures, with 17.

The victory moved Syracuse to 2-0, while CCSU slid to 0-2.
